AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT ST. INEZ ANGANWADI

Students of T.Y.B.Sc. Training and Development, of Goa College of Home Science conducted an awareness programme on
"Nutrition and Mental Well-Being" at St. Inez Anganwadi, Panjim-Goa on 1st April 2022. This session was organized in
collaboration with Urban Health Centre Panaji and ICDS St Inez.The target audience were women and children from the
community. A presentation on nutrition by MohaFadte and Harshada Sawant was followed by Food Demonstration of iron-rich
recipes by Raksha Patil and SindhuGawas.
A Skit on mental well-being was performed by Bhairavi Naik, Harshada Veluskar,
Jerusha Cabral, Prachita Shirodkar, Pragati Desai, Sakshi Shirvonkar, Sejal Malik, Sindhu Gawas, VaishnaviKerkar, Viniksha Dhargalkar, Harshada Sawant and Moha Fadte.
The skit kept the audience engaged for half an hour. Ms. Mitali Bhate, Assistant Professor of Extension Educationpresented a summary of all the sessions, and
interacted with the audience as to whether the messages delivered through the presentation, demonstration and skit have effectively reached them.She emphasized
the importance of homemade food which can be prepared with local and traditional foods. She also brought out the importance of mental health and outlined ways
of dealing with stress.
The awareness programme on "Nutrition and Mental Well-Being" concluded with information on vector borne diseases and Glaucoma provided
by Ms RupaliSankhalkar, Health Educator.

The team from Urban Health Centre Panaji and ICDS St Inez applauded and thanked the students and Assistant Professor of Goa College of Home Science for their
contribution and efforts towards community welfare.
