AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON FSSAI FOR SELF HELP GROUPS

Goa College of Home Science teamed up with the Departments of Economics and Psychology
of Government College, Khandola, and the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera to organize an 'Awareness Programme on FSSAI' for the women of Self Help Groups in Tivrem,
Marcela, Kumbharjua and the neighbouring villages on 25th November 2021.
The resource person was Mr, Shivdas Naik Senior Food Safety Officer, FDA,
Bambolim. Mr. Naik enlightened the participants on the various aspects of starting a food business as per the FDA requirements.
He explained in detail the
nuances of registering their food business with the FDA, obtaining a food licence to operate their business under FSSAI, labelling and packaging food products. |

The registration and licence could be obtained online. This was followed by a question-and-answer session.
45 women from various self-help groups benefitted from the session.
