The First Aid & Health Watch Club of Goa College of Home Science, Campal, Goa in association with Unicharm India Limited organized three online sessions on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management so as to cover all the undergraduate students of the college, on 27th, 29th and 30th October 2021 respectively. The resource person for the sessions was Ms. Roshnee Bhowmick, CSR Executive, Unicharm India.
Ms Bhowmick in the sessions discussed the period of adolescence and its stages.

She laid emphasis on the individual differences with regards to the onset of menses, the number of days a menstrual period lasts, duration of the menstrual cycle, premenstrual symptoms and changes during the menstrual period.

Important aspects such as physical and emotional changes taking place during adolescence were discussed in an interactive manner.

The resource person also covered several Myths and Facts regarding hygiene practices, pain and other sypmtoms about menstruation during the session.
The importance of hygiene during the menstrual period and easy to follow suggestions were also highlighted. In conclusion Ms. Bhowmick mentioned the importance of a healthy diet, exercise and hygiene for a healthy Menstrual period and requested the participants to be active in disseminating the information they gained during the session so has to be beneficial to others in the community also.

The sessions were coordinated by Assistant Professor Ms. Gauravi Shirodkar, In-Charge of Health Watch Club.
